Rising country singer/songwriter Noelle Toland sheds light on a new perspective in her latest single, Nashville Numbers. Following the success of her latest 90’s country covers as well as her previous releases and heartfelt EP, Noelle’s brand-new release, Nashville Numbers, takes a new approach on a familiar trope. As a sort of response to Morgan Wallen’s Tennessee Numbers, Noelle flips the script to give the other side of the story. While Wallen’s track highlights a situation of a man struggling with a breakup and if she would just answer the phone, he’d tell her he still loves her, Nashville Numbers tells the story of a girl who leaves town to mend a broken heart and “shows how some heartbreaks can almost ruin a city for you,” she shares.

This is a play on Music City’s widely used eponymous “Nashville Number System.” Swapping Wallen’s “865” with Nashville’s “615” area code, we learn how those three numbers take her back to the happier times when they were together, and we see how painful it is for her to revisit those days. The juxtaposition of lyrics in the two songs provides a whole new perspective and shows how different heartbreak can feel for each person involved.
Noelle Toland describes her music as modern, old-school country. Although she didn’t come from a musical family, her family were huge music fans.

Toland said, “My mother introduced me to Patsy Cline. She loved singer-songwriters, and my dad loved soul music.”

Toland started singing at a young age, not because someone told her she was super talented, but because she loved singing.

She explained, “I started singing in my kindergarten choir. That was the first time I got on stage. I remember loving the feeling of being on stage. That led me to get into musical theater, and the rest is history.”
Get ready with us as Noelle Toland premieres her new music video for her latest single, You’re An Arrow! Watch here. Co-written with Tyler Winther, the song is exactly what you need to hear if you are dealing with strong emotions or going through some of life’s big changes.
This video is so special because it includes some home videos of one-year-old Noelle playing with her mom. Toland reminisces, saying “I’ve made countless calls to both my parents lamenting on why things aren’t working out, why my heart aches or why every day is a struggle sometimes. This song and video is a reminder for me and others that no matter how far you wander, you are never alone and you are never lost.” These beautiful sentiments were inspired by a Kahlil Gibran poem called “On Children” that Toland’s father sent her when she was struggling with her path in music and in life. The notion of being one’s own arrow and guide through life inspired not just a cute arrow tattoo on Toland’s neck, but an amazing song as well.
Nashville-based singer/songwriter Noelle Toland is paying homage to one of the beloved decades of country music. She recreated an iconic 90’s country song and delivers her own cover version of Trisha Yearwood’s “Walkaway Joe.”

“I’ve always been a huge 90’s country music lover,” says Noelle. “Trisha Yearwood is one of my idols. My Mom and I share a love for this song, so it is very special to me. When I was a little girl, I actually used to sing this song around the house for my Mom, often using a remote control or a hairbrush as my microphone.”
